The Purchasing module turns supply requirements into supplier orders. It helps you decide what to order, from whom and for which date, then track what remains to be received.

Available functions

  • create a purchase order manually;
  • prepare an order from material requirements suggestions;
  • use an article’s main supplier, purchase prices and price tiers;
  • account for minimum and incremental order quantities;
  • track ordered, received and outstanding quantities; and
  • retain the link between the order, its receivings and stock movements.

Prerequisites

Before ordering, enter:
  • the supplier, its contacts and addresses;
  • the purchased articles and their units;
  • the available suppliers for each article;
  • the relevant prices, lead times, minimums and order increments; and
  • the delivery site and address.

Purchasing lifecycle

1

Analyze the requirement

Review upcoming shortages and purchase suggestions, or enter a known requirement directly.
2

Choose the supplier

Group compatible articles and check prices, minimum quantities and the expected lead time.
3

Create the order

Enter the supplier, site, dates, terms and lines to order.
4

Send and track

Send the document to the supplier, then move the order through your internal validation process.
5

Receive the goods

Create one or more receivings. Outstanding quantities remain visible until they are received or cancelled.

Purchasing and receivings

The supplier order belongs to the Purchasing flow. Receiving is a Logistics operation: it checks delivered quantities, identifies lots and puts products into their locations. Both records remain linked.

Understand planning

Turn future requirements into purchasing proposals.

Receive goods

Check the delivery and put articles into stock.
