- its production process and steps;
- its bill of materials when components are consumed;
- the production site and stock locations used; and
- the required times or capacities if you use scheduling.
Production lifecycle
1
Identify the requirement
Start from a sales order, a planning suggestion or a requirement to replenish stock.
2
Create the manufacturing order
Select the article, quantity, process, site and expected date.
3
Prepare the components
Check their availability, then reserve or pick the lots required by the process.
4
Declare the operations
Move the order through each step. Use partial declarations when the complete quantity is not processed at once.
5
Complete manufacturing
Put the manufactured products into their location and check the consumed and produced quantities.
Points to check
- An incomplete bill of materials produces incorrect requirements and picks.
- The process defines the steps, tasks and stock movements.
- A realistic expected date improves planning and scheduling proposals.
Plan requirements
Decide how much to manufacture and when to launch it.
Manage stock
Track consumed components and manufactured products.
Schedule the workshop
Assign operations to machines and available time slots.
