The police register (livre de police) is the mandatory legal register for precious-metal and second-hand professionals. It ensures traceability of entries and exits, with the associated guarantees and hallmarks, and must be producible for any inspection.

What the register must carry

Every movement of a precious-metal object appears in chronological order, with the elements needed to identify it and trace its origin:
  • the date of the entry or exit,
  • the identity of the third party (supplier, customer, private individual) and their contact details,
  • the description of the object: nature, metal, fineness, weight, number of pieces,
  • the associated hallmarks and guarantees,
  • the consideration for the transaction.

The register is built from data already entered day to day: receivings and shipments for the movements, organisations and contacts for the third parties, alloys and fineness values modelled by the metal account for the material. No re-entry is therefore needed: the register is a rendering of your flows, not a journal to keep in parallel. It comes as a dedicated dashboard, filterable by period and exportable for an inspection.
