For a manufacturing workshop, this extension tracks the precious metal entrusted to each operator and the metal loss along the chain, from melting to the finished piece. It reconciles the loss with the scrap (filings) actually recovered. Stock is not affected: it is a separate ledger.

The model

Each movement credits or debits an operator’s account:
  • Load (+): metal is entrusted to the operator for a manufacturing order.
  • Return (−): the operator returns the piece, plus an optional sprue (recovered casting gate).
  • Scrap return: filings come back, grouped by bucket, with no manufacturing order.
The balance reads per operator and per bucket. The loss per manufacturing order is: initial weight − returned weight − sprue. Stones are counted separately, in carats.

Day to day

The page has two tabs.
1

Load

Select a manufacturing order (search or barcode scan). The operator and weight are prefilled from the order. The operator’s account is credited.
2

Return

Enter the returned weight, the optional sprue and the stones (in carats). The operator’s account is debited.
3

Follow accounts and losses

The Accounts tab shows the balance per operator and per bucket, plus the metal in progress. The Orders tab details, for each order, the initial, returned, sprue, stones and loss, with the movement history.
